I used to think I did text battles for too long...but Now i look back an realize it helped me become a more creative writer when it comes to making my music today..

Text battles neva gonna fade outta style....shits a whole different category of creativeness.

True. I find topicals to be more interesting and fulfilling than battling, def not as embarrassed about that side of competition. It's been a fun journey, but one that very few people in my life know about.

I've been doing it for like....12 years now, started when I was 14 back on the ave. didn't show up here till a couple years ago and discovered topicals about 6 or 7 years ago...I'll be doing it till i'm dead tbh hope ya'll are still here too

I think I just enjoy message boards. I actually wrote a little essay on it the other day, will post it on my blog when I get back from brazil. But as someone who was part of the first wave of having the internet, there's still something truly fascinating and remarkable to me about interacting with people I would otherwise never encounter in my daily life. That we interact over a shared love of hip hop and writing (two things I care deeply about but most of my friends don't) makes this site ideal.

Also, Knucklehead, just think of it as another day. At first, I said to myself, damn I've wasted a lot of time. But hey, like anyone, it should be a hobby and also fun. When it stops being any of that, move along.

And besides Naq, who started in 95, I'm probably the second longest to be doing this shit, at 96.
