i havent been actively looking but i know suni militants took key cities to the north of baghdad and were closing in on baghdad when the president or pm whatever they got was begging america to airstrike them and help. obama told em like ayo, help yourselves bro's we're done fighting your battles for you

the day after that i read that the iraqi military drove the rebels out of those areas in the north and were beating them back

i haven't looked into it since. i'll have to peep on my lunchbreak im getting ready for work
