Not gay at all if you execute it properly. Better than having all current event punches or cliche flips
if philly no shows im going to bring back public hangings.
You must be dreaming, damn. Sorry to disrupt your evil plan nerd
But I am showing...
so after this battle you'll just be hanging by urself, like Steven Glansberg

if its done as the opener of a battle. like quote then verse I can tolerate it. but when people stop a verse to put in quotes that never works imo

See....now this is dif.....imo.
Quotes in a 1-2 battle is just too much. Lame. At least if u use a quote in a reg battle with 20lines u can spin a couple bars off it.

Didn't wanna waste a regular punch, didn't have any other personal information on him, thought I could still get a W by doing it.
I'm really disappointed you guys don't approve. I'll try to do better next time.

Look at the other people sayin it's gay and that should tell you somethin.
It's been part of battles forever, if you do it well it's just another thing to use.
You never used one nik? I'm not sayin you did, fuck if I know.
But most of the OGs in the game did too...resin, butler, user, etc.
Usually ahead of the verse, that's true.
Seems like more of a personal issue you have, G - just my take tho

One at the beginning of the verse. That's it, though. Any more and it's annoying. I try to steer away from using them at this point.
I'd say it also depends on who's doing it for the fuckboys, though. If someone everyone loves is doing it or if it's someone doing it against someone hated, nothing will be said.
Not going to name names, but if you think I'm calling you out, then yes, you are a faggot.

Depends. Who are you asking? The majority? Smart group in that lot. As far as a public opinion/mob perspective, then quoting punches makes it seem like you care, which is the biggest no no ever these days. If you're being honest, then it depends on what kind of writer you are. Some people use so many tie-ins in verses that picking up on the subtitles are difficult. If you're a writer who uses weak similes, then highlighting the obvious makes you look like an idiot.
Depends on the judges and the individual writer, but the mass blind hate for it is stupid... imo.

I don't think it's an unfair advantage - it's open to everyone to do it
But I do agree that any more than one before you start the verse is annoying, - disrupts the flow/rhythm, - so you better have a damn good line to follow to make up for it
I thought Cash's last week was good enough to do that though

One quote S'all you need
i believe in bringing your oppenant out of the closet in discussion with numerous threads that embarass him before taking jabs. then you dont need qoutes. i honestly dont dig qoutes -cause if i wasnt there for the conversation then it means nothing to me during a battle
bvut if you drag that mutha fucker out in enough in discussion. everybody gonna understand when they see your punches

Week 1 NBL season 6 against dia.
You than made a thread in disc asking or better opponents roflz
As to thread, as long as they don't break up the verse it's whatever. Using em in 1-2 bit of a stretch tho.

Yeah, I was thinking the same on your first point. Everyone can do it, so not necessarily an 'unfair' advantage.
No hate at Cash either. He know I wasn't talm bout him.

I hate quote puncjes, if you ever notived I barely ever had used anything in my verse other then bars. I quote nothing and figured if someone dont get the reference(which happens a good bit) then i didnt do the bar right or went to obscure with em. i think there gay lol
quute punches is no different then explaining a bar
i think a quote punch flipped right is better/more creative then any nameplay flip

this. it's a "sly" (but not really) attempt at explaining your bar w/o really explaining it.. but you still are.
I always thought even the whole
"My opponents name" aka "other name" aka "other name" aka "other name"
was corny too.
because it's still another way to slip an explanation past the reader.. if those aka's you wanna make name flips on aren't widely known oh well, get better material.
