All that really needs to be said is summed up in this quote..

...those who use it do so to offset the brutality of the game. The fact that they made it to the N.F.L. at all means that their marijuana use is under control.

no new ground is broken, but it's good to hear it from a former player.

Ain't like u need to be pointed in a direction, my friend.

It's well known that certain Indica strains completely alleviate all types of pain.

Study up a bit.

There's ways to get it, if that's what ur looking for.

sounds made up. but im weird with drugs. I cant tell a difference between sativa and indica high. nost painkillers dont get me high unless I do three times the amount a normal person would do. shits weird. weed just gets me stoned. whatever type it is

This was a dumb, opinionated article.

Facts are facts man. People that are playing at the high caliber and high payed salary job level that these players are doing need to have the most cleared mental state of conscienceless.

All you need is some guy high the night of a game try throwing, catching, blocking, etc... and their not completely focused, I'd say it was a waste of my money.

Sorry, but I don't agree with this. If I have to be drug tested regularly at my job whether it's pushing papers, operating cranes and heavy machinery, or demolishing buildings safely, then these guys do to. If not for clarity of the game but also for their safety.

the only difference is the indica seems better/i feel more stoned

Untold it's an opinion editorial (op-ed), so it's meant to be opinionated. I think you're missing the point, though. Not only is he saying that players who smoke weed in the NFL (and there are a lot of them) are NOT abusing it, he's saying they are abusing pain pills - and are in ways encouraged to do so. These medications are far more corrosive to the human body than weed is. On top of that, testing positive for weed is in the same category as testing positive for opiates and PCP. You can't believe that those are equivalent substances.

Let me ask you: do you think it's fair and reasonable to be tested regularly if you are performing your job duties satisfactorily?

opinion editorial (op-ed)

Op-ed stands for "opposite editorial." It's used to denote columns written by outsiders while the editorial page is written by staff. Op-ed columns traditionally run on the odd-numbered page facing the editorial page, though few places use that standard now.

learn something new everyday, I didn't know that. another fun fact: DVD originally stood for digital versatile disc.
