I will watch the next episode tonight. I was caught up on True Detective last night and just couldn't pull away with that and The Strain on. Happy to see Eli on True Detective. Will let you know ab BWE tonight.

Yes, this episode of BWE was so much more enticing than the first. Now I can shake the time jump knowing that this season is going to be explosive, the introduction of Elliot Ness to the Capone story, Lucciano/Lansky plotting, Nucky being on to them, the predicament Eli/Nelson are in, Will being groomed to further Nucky's ambitions..even the flashbacks were more compelling. I'm hooked.

Finished True Detective, too. What a superb series. That finale was excellent. The way Marty and Rust kind of rekindled their friendship all throughout the episode and especially in the hospital was great stuff.

ive got the feeling TD wont be able to match the bar set with the first season though

esp. with it having completely seperate series/characters to the next one

did Better Call Saul air in the states yet?

I don't think BCS has started yet. At least not over here. I think TD can pull it off, a fresh city, compelling narrative, and a few good actors wanting to turn in a performance of their careers is all it takes. American Horror Stories recycles their actors each season but uses entirely new storylines and they still manage to pull it off. With TD essentially being an episodic movie they aren't shackled by prolonging the ending of each season with a cliffhanger. Hopefully Harrelson and McConaughey stay on to produce.

I knew they wouldn't be back as actors but I thought this was their baby as producers? If they decided not to come back to produce that could be damning. BWE has had Martin Scorcese and Mark Wahlberg producing all 5 seasons and it shows bc the quality hasn't really declined.

Damn. Just read the only person coming back is Nic Pizzolatto. Which means they both won't producing. Also it's going to be a female lead leaning towards Rosario Dawson. I like Rosario Dawson but she better be surrounded by some damn good actors/actresses. I prefer her much better in a supporting role.
