Thought I'd experiment a little bit and start practicing audios. I don't do audios in English and don't like sharing anything at this point because I'm wack af atm. but thought I'd share this either way since I used your beat just in case you'd be interested in listening either way. At the very least you'll hear something you didn't expect on your work. Thought this beat was dope af man, great work.

I enjoyed the album thoroughly.
It reminded me of drop beats / break beats / hip hop beats, mostly downtempo; with the melodies and vocals / vocal samples having much R&B and soul influences.
"This Is My Prayer" even had some noisy guitar or whatever that noise track was in it… me gusta.
I could imagine rap over many of these songs, and wonder if you left it how it is purposely or if you could not find the right rapper to drop on the tracks.
I wonder how many of the vocals and instruments (horns, keys, guitar, bass, etc) on there were samples that you tweaked & organized; and hoe many of them were live recordings from your studio. Same curiosity about the beats.
I give the album a B : I wished that raping happened in many spots of the songs.
I have a feeling many of the sounds came from downloaded dubs, but you organized them very well; and the audio quality sounds good.
I am personally down with remixing songs, and I have very unique methods. Contact me, if you are interested.

Stfu muzzle.
chill out, holmes.
The album has some some funk influences too. Reminded me slightly of some older DJ Shadow I listened to in highschool, just a little bit.
Objective -- did you make that beat?

i think i remember you trying to start an MPC donation type of thread on PR a while back.
is that all you need to begin making beats regularly?

yea pretty much. I mean id like to have a whole setup but all I need to get back in is an mpc basically. just uninspired with my software workflow anymore. insread of being fun and getting my ideas out quickly im stuck with the same slow going process and about halfway in on anything im working on I just lose interest
basically its a chore.
but word I thought about making a kickstarter and recording vids and trying to hype it but id feel weird about it.

people have been successful with much worse kickstarter pages. re: potato salad guy
couldn't hurt

like think about writing text verses on an old phone where each number was 3 letters. sure you could still write dope pieces but it just sucks so much that its like screw it. ill just wait till I can get a computer
thats sort of like how it is for me. I can do anything with software an mpc can do. it just takes twice as long and is a giant hassle

Uh-oh did.
dope.
I dig Uh-Oh's beat making skills. I think I may have messaged him an offer for collaboration.

An MPC works very well. As an alternative, a computer with Ableton Luve and a MIDI controller works.. you can get a cheap MIDI controller with touch pads... I think the newer MPC's have very good touch pad sensitivity, which is crucial. Also, when dealing with computers & software hooked up to hardware... there can be latency issues. Electronic drum sets are ideal, for this situation. I use a computer with an APC40 when I feel like making beats, but the APC40 + Ableton is more of a loop dropping situation... You can't punch in the drum hits yourself. Thats what the MIDI controller is for, and it could be either touch pad or keyboard set. I haven't gotten into making beats via MIDI yet (all though I bought the cord). For now, all I've been doing is using downloaded break beats, adding effects, making multiple channels, and dropping the final audio down with the APC40. You can download Ableton Live free via torrent, and you don't need an APC40 or MIDI controller to make beats... you can use your keyboard. It just takes a bit of educating yourself via tutorials on youtube and whatnot.
uh-oh ----- do you have a soundcloud?

09-23-2014, 10:06 PM
yea its uhohbeats
and word to all you were saying. I used to have the mpd32 midi controller but all those just use software still. I want an mpc lol. I want to do it all in the machine from chopping to programming to sequencing to even mixing
they got the mpc studio for 400 but im gonna get the renaissance for 1000 when I can. has everything the classic mpcs have with the connectivity of the modern world. easy to track everything out and etc
just want that shit yo. people try and get me to get a maschine instead and other shit but ive wanted an mpc since forever
uh-oh

aight wordddd this is dope. while i was waiting on the beat to drop i wasnt too interested and almost clicked out but word i dig it. talented for sure. this is firmly in the realm of instrumental music, like made to be a standalone piece
my main problem when making beats is i get caught between the world of making something dope to listen to, and something a rapper can rap on, so i get stuck between the two and kind of fail both ways. if that makes sense? like they're too busy/change to much for rappers to want to rap on them, but not busy enough/dont change enough to stand alone i dunno
but word that was pretty dope.

I know what you mean. Imo it's fuck tying yourself down to the restraints of molding it for someone else. Unless they paying you, then do whatever. Just for me, I'd make em as liquid as possible.
