anyone heard of this dude? my brother sent me this article about him so I checked him out:

http://grantland.com/hollywood-prospectus/lecrae-christian-rappers-christian-rap-and-the-no-1-album-in-the-country/

and it made me curious. my family is pretty religious, but they've never tried to refer me to music (let alone christian music). the few tracks I listened to were solid/not about god. anyway, figured I'd share.

A bunch of rap and general music sites I read have had good reviews of his work over the past few years, but I shrugged it off for the obvious reason.

Are you kidding me? Lacrae is amazing. Christian rap or not. Dude won a grammy I think (last year) and is currently breaking records.

song was good i can totally see his appeal. not overly preachy. religiously inspired music that does not attempt to convert you or use its message condescendingly is fine by me.

never heard of him before this post though so yeah, thx

That dude is bad ass!

If you appreciate christian rap, here is a friend of mine freestylin. It doesn't touch Lacrae, but its dope. Different style.

One underground Christian rap group that I liked quite a bit a decade ago but have barely thought of since was Mars ILL. They toned back the Christian messages to the point where you'd barely be able to notice it, unlike Lecrae.
