Jack Daniels is for people who don't know shit about whiskey. Get yourself some straight Kentucky bourbon or single-malt Scotch. Right now I have Glenfiddich 15 (which really isn't worth the price bump from Glenfiddich 12) as my Scotch choice, but I think my favorite relatively affordable selection is Deanston 12. For bourbon, I love the Basil Haydens I have right now, but you can't beat Four Roses' yellow-label standard for its price.
