I have currently been awake for 27 consecutive hours

So far so good... the farthest I've pushed is 37. It was like, the worst day of my life.

So I'm pushing for longer.

Doing chores around the house to keep me occupied. Dozing off is at a minimum. A rockstar and two cups of coffee are so far proving to be a futile effort in fighting the dreaded sleepy eye. Must stay active.

my record is 49 hrs but that was with some serious help

Source: I'm struggling with sleep deprevation and during rare occasions has entered a hallucinogenic state (people appearing/disappearing that aint there, minor auditory hallucinations, sight distortions where determining distances is lowered along with slight change of colors etc.), confusion, a ''natural high'' (like smoking mediocre weed [5] to a small buzz you get after a few beers) and uncontrollable sweat/breathing pattern etc. a few times. Reaching a state like this usually takes about 40-70 hours to enter and it gradually gets more intense until I'm too exhausted to do anything and naturally fall asleep and wake up about 14-18+ hours later.

I do not recommend this to anyone. It's more exhausting and tiresome than fun, not to mention it's not good for your health. But as a one-time experiment; go for it.

Sounds about right. I've only experienced someone walking 3-4 meters ahead of me and then dissapear once. Mostly it's like what you're describing tho'. Kinda surreal the moment you experience it.
