''Different Hues'' She was red. I was blue. We were different hues. Different views. The friction grew, The addiction too, Which we didn't know our limits too. She was a Dark Red, afraid of her surroundings. I was a Carolina Blue. Full energy and always kept pounding. The fiery latina attitude matched her shade of Flame. While I was true blue - Honesty and Loyalty was my main game. Sometimes she was a Lust red, and we felt the passion together Especially when I showed her steel blue. I felt stronger than ever. I wanted to reveal my Royal Blue. Show her my definition of love. Embracing her Maroon while reminding her she will be loved. I always made sure to communicate, even when I was teal. But she remained oxblood, her pride kept her from keeping it real. A dark cloud in my sky blue front. Her feelings were Crimson - all tide up. @Zen |

It was sometime after noon,
on the square, we walked. Heading at our own pace towards nowhere at all. She asked me where I'd been. I said I don't understand... She said she never did, and she doesn't think that she can. Ask me about the sunrise, she said, I'll tell you that it's green. We all go through our lives and don't know what we see. |

This was a decent battle I think both of the writers put a lot of effort in....zen for me was the weaker of the pieces I think he kinda slacked in genuity whereas slect came with a strong background behind his piece....I enjoyed the way he used the topic and for that reason slect is getting my vote....
Vote; slect

I enjoyed both, but honestly thought the concept behind slecht elevated his verse just enough to get the win. Zen read was very somber and poetic, but I don't think it contained enough to match a concept piece, enough meat I mean. Slecht had a similar route in terms of what he wrote about and had a nice flow to it. Again though, the concept portion was the theoretical icing on the cake for me.

Upon reflection both pieces were well done. I feel as though Zen may have been outwritten here. slecht played with a more cohesive concept the intro blends well with the wide array of hues as he starts to follow through. I felt he had some stronger ideas but I cringed upon the maroon reference.
reading Zens another time had his opponent underperformed he would have had this in the bag. there is a lot to be said but it just isn't enough to overthrow slechts piece v/slecht
