So ive been watching the history channels show: the curse of oak island..
..and its been entertaining me for over a week now. Ive watched several.episodes a day and am on season 6 episode 5 currently. Idk if any of you are familir with oak island and the money pit, but this has been an exciting and interesting piece of history imo for a long time. Ive known about it since quite sometime before the show appeared on tv. Me and my uncle used to speak on it. Im not certain after all the money time and work thats been done on this island that any amazing treasure exista there "anymore".. I do believe that some time ago there may have been some nice deposits of treasure that have since been discovered/recovered and spent up or whatever. Im a big believer that samuel ball found a good bit of his fortune if not all of it from digging on the island while he cabbage farming there during his time after as was freed from slavery and purchased land there. He obviously did not become as wealthy as he was by simply faeming cabbage. But ya. Just wondering if any of you had paid any attention to this and what your thoughts may be. Intereati g shit for sure.

It's a waste of time.
They lead you to believe that something's actually happening but in reality they haven't done a damn thing. No treasure found nor will it be found. |

lol...bruh, it's a fucking tar pit. Literally...it was left over from the age of sail when there used be maintenance spot on islands for boats. These pits use to be everywhere to process pitch, and slide the boats in for patching. We have sandlewood pits and shit on this island and the repair areas are the same thing like oak island...but cleaner.
People forgot about it because we forget details like the pitch and pemmican and sandlewood trades. I bet if someone did some research they would learn it was a stopping point with a repair yard in that spot for naval vessels or something.

Well. We know they were mining gold there until they discovered what they were really mining was fools gold. The boat repair theory is intereating considering the man made objects found on the smiths cove area. Could very well have some truth behind that. Idk. Its all intereating to me cause ive always been into archaelogy and treasure hunts above and below water. So even though i agree theres nothing of value there now i do believe at somepoint theyre may have been a small fortune burried there (fortune by that eras standards anyway) thats already been recovered.
In any event ..if they were ever to find anytho g its not gonna be the way theyve been going at it. A massive excavation is necessary and they cant do that because its way to invasive and the area is protected by canadian laws nowadays.
