Some of these are actually pretty cool.

What if a spy lived under an untrustworthy friend?
What if a rat became enchanted by the Thing from Another Dimension?
What if a viking stood up against a dark cave?
What if an outlaw went back in time for your family?
What if an ancient warrior feared a dragons egg?

Some are situationally funny as well:
What if a giant tripped over a teams mascot?
What if your brother made a pet out of the fountain of youth?
What if an ancient warrior feared a dragons egg?
What if a genius argued with a bear?
What if an evil genius tracked down the guy that never blinked?
What if an illustrator lost a job because of a strange egg?

I think it's the language barrier, but 100% of those are objectively uncool and uninteresting at the same time

Could be the language barrier, or that I see potential where you do not. Difference in writing practice and personal preference goes just as far as the difference in what a reader prefers a story to be about.
