“Welcome Tom” said Dr. Lobe
“What do you have to say about your lack of control?” Tom was a fidgety mess, sweating profusely Wiggling about, regretful and brooding He answered, “My obsession’s to blame although I love deeply, it’s conception was strange You see doc, nearly a decade ago my wife left us alone Raising two kids, I was a complete wreck on my own I accepted their wishes and stayed away from her stone But their hatred had grown upon learning what I’d condoned” Sally and Tom were two peas and a pod A Jr. High couple whom hit the tee off Moved miles apart but managed to talk Old fashioned, wrote letters with postage they’d bought In their mid thirties they finally made it official Tying the knot, cause, having a third kid was a fistful The edgy parents, rarely sober, as loud as a pistol Often loaded, sedation a bit overly misused Not hippy but ish, not druggy just issues Delusional, imagined themselves growing to grizzled But their best friend, Mary-Jane, who was related to Crystal Both got stuck within tar and introductions would ensue Weekend use soon matured to weekdays consumed Injecting love in a relationship this couple had groomed “At first, the kids had no clue how she passed But the autopsy revealed the secret we had They lost their father and mother, though one would still breathe They blamed me for enabling, claiming a murderers free But doc, you must understand, I’m not fully crazy Just a poor sap in love with the feeling she gave me I loved Sally, and she I, but I can’t lie We both loved that euphoric sensation supplied With every prick, clouds would slowly cave in engulfing the spirit, tantalizing the skin Our minds were free, I didn’t murder, but I allowed her to die She passed peacefully when her dream had arrived Well I awoke, begrudgingly. For me, reality's what had survived”.
